The Center for Integrative Studies in Social Science (CIS/SS) was created in 1989 and was designed to serve as a vehicle for the development and administration of instructional programs that emphasize the overlapping boundaries of the social sciences and related disciplines.

The Center has administrative responsibility for several major curricular units and programs, including:

  1. An integrative studies core curriculum in social science.
  2. An undergraduate major in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS).
  3. An IDS Evening Degree-Completion Program.
