Center for Integrative Studies
in Social Science
Welcome
The Center for Integrative Studies in Social Science (CIS/SS) was created in 1989 and was designed to serve as a vehicle for the development and administration of instructional programs that emphasize the overlapping boundaries of the social sciences and related disciplines.
The Center has administrative responsibility for:
- the integrative studies core curriculum in social science.
- the undergraduate major in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS).
ISS Course Override Policy
- Overrides are only processed during open enrollment.
- We will NOT grant overrides into full sections. (The only exceptions are students graduating that semester, or students who need to repeat the course.)
- Transfer students—the system may not automatically recognize your transfer credit as an ISS 200-level equivalent course. Come to our office in 302 Berkey for a “pre-requisite” override in order to enroll in an OPEN 300-level ISS section.
